Police would like to remind motorists attending New Years Eve celebrations on the Gold Coast of some of the major road closures.
Police are also encouraging revelers to use public transport or taxis where possible as limited parking can be expected at major entertainment locations.
Exercise patience with other commuters waiting for these services and consider the additional time it may take to arrive at other events as road closures and detours may impact on arrival times, as can heavier than normal traffic flows.
Some of the road closures include:
Runaway Bay
The Esplanade at Paradise Point from Falkinder Avenue to Donald Avenue from 6pm to 10pm.
Coolangatta
Marine Parade will be closed between Dutton Street and Warner Street from 6pm to1am.
Surfers Paradise
The Esplanade between View Avenue.
Hanlon Street and Cavill Avenue East at the intersection with Surfers Paradise Blvd from 6pm to 4am.
